Television Premieres and Notables: February 5-11, 2018

Wednesday, 2/7

Big Brother: Celebrity Edition; CBS. 7 pm CST. Season Premiere.
CBS fires a shot with Friday's event (and this season lasts about as long).
I was (and may still) give it a look-- but let me say publicly: fuck CBS for doing this during the Olympics.

Queer Eye; Netflix. Streaming. Season Premiere.

Thursday, 2/8

The Four (Fox; 7 pm CST). Season Finale.
Geez-- that came and went so fast, I heard nothing about it

Friday, 2/9

Winter Olympics Opening Ceremony; NBC. 7 pm CST. Special.
Here we go: the beginning of a 14-day extravaganza being held in PyeongChang South Korea.
I'm gonna give it shot again: watch every ice hockey and curling event the USA competes in that is televised.
And try to hit every other sport I can; at least the medal rounds.
Do yourself a favor and give some of the events a try.

Saturday, 2/10

Eric Clapton: Life in 12 Bars; Showtime. 8 pm CST. Special.

Sunday, 2/11

Star Trek: Discovery (CBS All Access; 7:30 pm CST). Season Finale.

Here and Now; HBO. 8 pm CST. Series Premiere.
Tim Robbins and Holly Hunter star in this series that sounds an awful lot like what is becoming a non-fantasy HBO drama tradition: bored and depressed people doing their thing.
But the creator of the show is Alan Ball, so there may be something more coming...

Homeland; Showtime. 8 pm CST. 7th Season Premiere.

Sunday, January 28, 2018

Television Premieres and Notables: January 29-February 4, 2018

Wednesday, 1/31

Happy! (Syfy; 9 pm CST). Season Finale.

Thursday, 2/1

The Good Place (NBC; 7:30 pm CST). Season Finale.

A.P. Bio; NBC. 8:30 pm CST. Series Premiere.
Glenn Howerton stars as an underachieving teacher who finds himself with a class of overachievers.

Friday, 2/2

Strikeback; Cinemax. 5th Season Premiere.
I haven't seen the show, but I think I read somewhere that this is kind of a reboot; new characters, new situations.

2 Dope Queens; HBO. 10:30 pm CST. Mini-series (of specials) premiere.
Phoebe Robinson and Jessica Williams star in this four-part comedy special based on what they do on their podcast.

Altered Carbon; Netflix. Streaming. Series Premiere.
Adapted from Richard K. Morgan's novel from 2002.

Sunday, 2/4

This Is Us (NBC) gets the post-Super Bowl slot, and fans are already salivating about what it likely entails.
