Fast N' Loud; Discovery. 8 pm CST. Season Premiere.
Adventure Time; Cartoon Network. 6:30 pm CST. Season Premiere.
Tuesday, 2/19
Cult; The CW. 8 pm CST. Series Premiere.
I'm gonna admit I'm a little confused about the concept of this one. It's something to do with a reporter looking into a cult TV show called Cult whose fans are taking it a little too far and copying the crimes they see on the show. To make it confusing, the series also shows clips and scenes from the show itself, and it's not always clear what's "real" and what's from the show.
Doesn't sound like it's for me-- except the cult leader of the show is played by Robert Knepper (aka "T-Bag" from Prison Break), so, you know: this is must-see TV just to see what he'll come up with.

I finally caught this show (season 4) last summer. It's a nice change from the usual cop show. It has a nice, gritty feel, but it also felt pretty "surfacey"; not much depth.
But that's not to say it's a bad show. In fact it's pretty good. It's worth checking out.

Props for Double D
Green Bay Packer Donald Driver officially announced his retirement today.
Now I don't watch sports-- or pay too much attention to them. But living an hour from Green Bay, you kinda pick up things about the Packers. It's everywhere. It's a matter of surviving nearly any conversation.
So, yeah, I've heard about Donald Driver. I've seen clips while watching the news. I've read of his exploits in the newspaper. Any story about him mentions his strong work ethic and his pure joy of playing a game for a living.
He played for one team: the Green Bay Packers. In this modern sports era of "what have you done lately" we live in, that's pretty darn unusual. He not only played for only one team, he played for it for fourteen years. When the average NFL career is three years, that's something. On a team known for players with serious longevity, Driver has the fourth-longest tenure with it. Crazy.
A skinny player drafted in the seventh round lasted fourteen years when many wouldn't have guessed he'd make the team at all. But he worked his ass off. He was a great teammate. He made some incredible plays. He is the receiving leader for the Packers and holds the most reception yards record for them. And he has the third-most touchdowns by a Packer.
Here are two amazing plays Number 80 made happen out of sheer willpower.
But even more important than being a great player, he was (and is) a great member of the community. Mike Woods tells the story wonderfully in this piece.

Alfred Molina and Jamie Bamber star in David E. Kelly (and Sanjay Gupta)'s new medical drama that follows a weekly Monday morning meeting between surgeons as they discuss mistakes they made the previous week.

Betty White's 2nd Annual 90th Birthday Special; NBC. 7 pm CST. Special.
Smash; NBC. 8 pm CST. 2nd Season Premiere.
They're giving this show a pretty heavy second try. A new showrunner steps in, a number of supporting characters are shown the door-- and Jennifer Hudson joins the cast.
Emily Owens, M.D. The CW. 8 pm CST. Series Finale.
Tosh.0; Comedy Central. 9 pm CST. 5th Season Premiere.
Thursday, 2/7
Community; NBC. 7 pm CST. 4th Season Premiere.
NBC is finally giving this show it's shot-- on a weak night, surrounded by a show that has never been strong, one that's three years past its prime, and another that is unlikely to get a second season.
Enjoy this show while you can. Odds are it's done...
Of course, NBC barely has any other comedy worth a damn, so maybe this one will get saved again.

Touch; Fox. 7 pm CST. 2nd Season Premiere.
The first season had its moments, but it also seemed to go off the rails at times.
But they're bringing in Maria Bello, D.B. Sweeney, and Mykelti Williamson as recurring characters, and that can't be a bad thing.
Sunday, 2/10
Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome; Syfy. 7 pm CST. Special.
The pilot for a potential BSG prequel series (that I believe Syfy passed on-- and why wouldn't they? I mean, BSG pretty much put the network on the map for original programming).
I've heard it's not to bad.
The Walking Dead; AMC. 8 pm CST. Mid-season return.
I'll readily admit: it's not the best show on TV, but it sure is fun and surprising.
Anyone who's seen the fourth episode this season can't say they saw those deaths coming.
And after the insane mid-season finale, you can't miss this episode.
The Talking Dead; AMC. 9 pm CST. Mid-season return.
Now at 60 minutes-- finally. Should be a little more informative/conversational instead of the previous "scraping at the surface" tone of the show in the past.
