Saturday, 10/15

Sunday, 10/16
The Walking Dead; AMC. 8 pm CST. 2nd Season Premiere.
The first season had a few moments of plot holes and bad dialogue, but overall it was great fun. The second season gets twice as many episodes (although, in a "brilliant" move, it will be split between this Fall and next Spring; I believe the monkeys who schedule NBC have been moonlighting at AMC...).
And there were some behind the scenes turmoil that caused series creator Frank Darabont to leave. The good news: the concept- and comic-creator, Robert Kirkman, is still involved. In fact, Season Two moves the story in the direction of the comic again as the group finds themselves on a farm.
Our America With Lisa Ling; OWN. 9 pm CST. Season Premiere.

Free Agents; BBC America. 10 pm CST. Series Premiere.
Huhn? Wha? Didn't this premiere a few weeks ago?
Sort of. But this is the original.
And if I laugh just once, it will have the lead over NBC's version (which I'm sticking with for a while; namely for the potential it could end up being decent).
The BBC series stars one of my favorite comedy actors: Stephen Mangan (BBC's Green Wing-- still one of my favorites-- and Showtime's Episodes), so I'll definitely be "in" for this one.
And the original also stars Anthony Head as the boss (just like on the NBC show)-- but he can be even more lewd and crude with BBC's more tolerant standards.
Sunday, 10/9
Breaking Bad (AMC; 9 pm CST). Season Finale.
Pop Up Video; VH1. 11 am CST. Series Return.

Monday, 9/26
Sesame Street; PBS. Check local listings. 42nd Season Premiere.
Forty-two!
Gossip Girl; The CW. 7 pm CST. Season Premiere.
Terra Nova; Fox. 7 pm CST. Series Premiere.
The highest-expectationed show to debut this fall. Why? Steven Spielberg is the creator. It involves time travel and finosaurs. And they blew a shitload of money on the pilot. In the future, a group of humans travel back in time to try to "redo" the human race experience since we blew it the first time.
Hart of Dixie; The CW. 8 pm CST. Series Premiere.
Rachel Bilson stars as a big-city doctor who finds herself back in her small-town Southern roots.
Mike & Molly; CBS. 8:30 pm CST. 2nd Season Premiere.
Mike and Molly are now engaged.
Don't worry, they're still portly, so I'm sure they won't ease-up on the fat jokes.
(Admittedly, I gave the show all of one and a half episodes last year, so maybe they grew out of the jokes by the end of the season. I doubt it, but I needed to give you full disclosure that I didn't stick with it.)
Weeds (Showtime; 9 pm CST.) Season Finale.
Tuesday, 9/27
The only premiere you need to know is:

Wednesday, 9/28
Suburgatory; ABC. 7:30 pm CST. Series Premiere.
A New York City teen finds herself transplanted to the 'burbs when her dad finds condoms in her room.
Rocket City Rednecks; National Geographic. 8 pm CST. Series Premiere.
Alabama rednecks built things involving explosives.
Don't worry, the "leader" is a rocket scientist...
Happy Endings; ABC. 8:30 pm CST. 2nd Season Premiere.
It wasn't the show I would have renewed (Perfect Couples and Traffic Light seemed to be growing better than this one), but here we are. It certainly ended better than it started, so I'll be checking it out this season as well.
Luther; BBC America. 9 pm CST. 2nd Season Premiere.
Highly recommended.
Thursday, 9/29
How to Be a Gentleman; CBS. 7:30 pm CST. Series Premiere.
David Hornsby tries to "man up" a little by coming under the guidance of his former bully, Kevin Dillon.
Private Practice; ABC. 9:01 pm CST. Season Premiere.
Friday, 9/30

The Doctor's time is up as he finds himself on the day he is supposed to die.
Bedlam; BBC America. 9 pm CST. Series Premiere.
A high rise is haunted by the people who used to live in the same spot when it was an asylum.
Sunday, 10/2
Prohibition; PBS. 7 pm CST (check local listings). Three-part Mini-series Premiere.
Ken Burns turns his documentary camera toward the dry period in American history.
Day Jobs; GAC. 7 pm CST. Series Premiere.
Country stars (like Trace Adkins) give their old jobs another try (like working on an oil-rig).
Dexter; Showtime. 8 pm CST. Season Premiere.
Homeland; Showtime. 9 pm CST. Series Premiere.
Claire Danes plays a CIA agent who is convinced that a rescused POW played by damian lewis is actually a traitor.
I've been hearing good things about this one. Worth checking out.
Around the World in 80 Days; History. 9 pm CST. Series Premiere.
Survivor mainstay "Boston" Rob Mariano teams up with monster-truck driver Dennins Anderson in this journey around the world, while only using each mode of transportation they use to get around just once.
Sesame Street; PBS. Check local listings. 42nd Season Premiere.
