It's been nine years since it signed off, but MTV is trying again.
This time, they need five co-hosts because Carson Daly is just that damn good to to it himself.

The Gifted; Fox. 8 pm CST. Series Premiere.
Set in the X-Men movie universe, this show follows some teens who exhibit powers-- and are hunted because of it.

The Middle; ABC. 7 pm CST. 9th-- and Final-- Season Premiere.

Fresh Off the Boat; ABC. 7:30 pm CST. 4th Season Premiere.
Jessica's worst nightmare came true at the end of last season: she and her family are homeless.

Black-ish; ABC. 8 pm CST. 4th Season Premiere.

The Mayor; ABC. 8:30 pm CST. Series Premiere.
A self-promoting rapper throws his hat in a mayoral race to gain some attention-- and wins.
Yeah, completely unbelievable premise, but, you know, you get what you get.

Kevin (Probably) Saves the World; ABC. 9 pm CST. Series Premiere.
A directionless young man is told he is to save humanity by a messenger from God; then he works on doing it.
Could either way, but Kevin is played by Jason Ritter, so I... am... in...


Thursday, 10/5

Scandal; ABC. 8 pm CST. 7th Season Premiere.


Friday, 10/6

Once Upon a Time; ABC. 7 pm CST. 7th Season Premiere.
Six cast members didn't return, and the show kinda reboots itself as it focuses on adult Henry.

Superstition; Syfy. 9 pm CST. Series Premiere.
Mario Van Peebles stars as the head of a family funeral-home business which also works to keep the dead and the living separate from each other.


Saturday, 10/7

Spielberg; HBO. 7 pm CST. Special.
A doc looking at the prolific director.


Sunday, 10/8

Madam Secretary; CBS. 9 pm CST. 4th Season Premiere.
