Television Premieres and Notables: January 15-21, 2018

Monday, 1/15

On the mid-season premiere or Supergirl (CW; 7 pm CST), she meets the motha-fukkin Legion of Super-Heroes!!!
(keep expectations low: I doubt we'll get two dozen new characters out of the gate... but I'm sure it'll be a start)

The Gifted (Fox; 7 pm CST) Season Finale.

Tuesday, 1/16

Black Lightning; The CW.  8 pm CST.  Series Premiere.
The latest DC Comics character to get his own CW show-- that's (supposedly) not part of the Arrow-verse.
We'll see...

Teachers (TV Land; 9 pm CST). Season Finale.

Wednesday, 1/17

The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story; FX. 9 pm CST. Mini-series Premiere.
From the people that brought you The People vs. O.J. Simpson...

Corporate; Comedy Central.  9 pm CST. Series Premiere.
I watched the pilot, and it's slow, dark, and dreary. Just like the corporate world.
But it has potential-- and Com Cent has been pimping the Hell out of it this season, so I think they're behind it.

The Path; Hulu. Streaming. 2nd Season Premiere.

Thursday, 1/18

Portlandia; IFC. 9 pm CST. Season Premiere.

Friday, 1/19

High Maintenance; HBO. 10 pm CST. 2nd Season Premiere.

Grace and Frankie; Netflix. Streaming. Season Premiere.

Saturday, 1/20

Planet Earth: Blue Planet II; BBC America. 8 pm CST. Mini-series Premiere.
If you saw the first mini, then you know this will test your HD screens.
This mini focuses on the water life of the planet, so enjoy.

Sunday, 1/21

The Resident; Fox. 9 pm CST (check listings for football overrun). Series Premiere.
Doctors who are learning-- and doctors who should have given it up a while ago-- are trying not to kill too many patients.

Counterpart; Starz. 7 pm CST. Series Premiere.
J.K. Simmons stars as a man who finds out his new job is to protect a bridge to another dimension.
