Just flipped through my upcoming recordings on the DVR and came across two fun episodes.
First, on Monday night, there's the "Assassinanny 911" episode of The Venture Brothers (adult swim/Cartoon Network; 11:30 pm CST). I am 99.9% sure that's the ep with one of my favorite scenes of all time: when Dean gets mouth to mouth and then runs around screaming that the Apaches are back (check out the ep-- I won't ruin it here).
Next, on Tuesday, is the newest episode of Costas Now (HBO, 8 pm). This ep features Hank Aaron and Willie Mays. This is mandatory viewing for a number of reasons: it has two of the greatest baseball players-- and men-- who ever stepped onto the field; two men who were instrumental in the race issues sports had at the time; and the fact that Bob Costas is an amazing talent who absolutely loves baseball in general and those two men in particular. I'm not much of a baseball fan, but I will be glued to my couch. This promises to be amazing television. Do not miss it.
(Note: those of you recording this would be smart to extend the recording a good half-hour beyond the hour-long run time. When Costas had the baseball roundtable discussion-- which included Aaron & Mays-- earlier this year, the filming went over by about ten minutes.)
